But fried chicken goodness certainly isn’t limited to the city of Portland, a city that foodies travel from far and wide to visit. Portland food is elevated, from finer ingredients to a priority on fresh and local and farm to table. Don’t get me wrong, all are good things. Great things, even.

But sometimes, you just want to stuff your face with cheesy-bacony Cheeto-y goodness.

Fairgrounds Pizza and Pub

If you’re familiar with Fairgrounds Pizza and Pub in Cornish, you’re likely thinking to yourself, “Of course, this sandwich is from Fairgrounds,” because they are known for being innovative, creative, and pushing the weird for tasty dishes.

Enter their latest chicken creation. This beast has a buttery lightly crispy bun, a fried chicken breast crusted in everyone’s favorite crushed-up Cheetos, topped with more crispy Cheetos, and the pièce de résistance: a bacon cheese sauce.

This thing is so epic that even a dairy-sensitive individual like myself is willing to risk the stomach pains this sandwich could bring my way. I’m forever on team 'chips belong on sandwiches', so why not Cheetos too?

While I’m no Flamin’ Hot kind of gal, that’s the only place to go from here, right?

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos crusted chicken breast, topped with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and then a hot bacon cheese sauce. I know there are PLENTY of people who would line up for that. So, you’re welcome, Fairgrounds, that idea is free.
