The Burger King located at 47 Central Ave in Dover NH (The Exit 7 BK) was closed this morning due to 'staffing issues'.

Now, it appears that the all too common problem of staffing shortages have plagued this location. To quote Shakespeare,  'Heavy is the head that wears the crown'.

BK fanatics like myself have been partying like it's 2018 lately as this location finally reopened in August after a near three-year closure due to a collapsed ceiling around the grill.

Hopefully, this is just a one-day occurrence.

Another word to the wise, it's difficult to see if they're closed just by looking at the restaurant from Central Avenue or passing by on Route 16. It wasn't until I pulled up to the drive-thru speaker that I saw the sign and realized they were closed for the day.

What made this even more confusing is that a few cars were in the parking lot at that time.

The pandemic era labor shortages have dominated the news headlines and greatly affected hospitals and IT departments, but the restaurant industry has arguably taken the biggest hit overall.

This was certainly one Whopper of a sad surprise, but we'll see if it extends beyond just a day off.
