Dover Vaccination Site ‘Perhaps the Most Successful Location’ in New Hampshire, Owner Says
C&J Bus Lines owner Jim Jalbert said the COVID-19 vaccination clinic being run out of the Dover terminal has been "perhaps the most successful location in the state," he told Seacoast Current.
Since January, C&J has been partnering with the State of New Hampshire to run a vaccination clinic in the company's bus terminal located in Dover. The location, situated on Indian Brook Road off the Spaulding Turnpike, had been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Jalbert.
Jalbert said this got him thinking proactively about how to be part of the solution regarding coronavirus. He began having conversations with the state about using the now-vacated bus terminal in Dover, and the state eventually agreed to turn it into a vaccination site.
"Obviously the impact of the pandemic on us has been significant," Jalbert said. "And it's been that way for many companies. We saw this as a great opportunity to help people get vaccinated and this is one way we can do our part.

"We sort of looked at it as a number of our passengers do," he continued. "That it is centrally located and you can access it from a number of different locations."
While the state continues to experience its fair share of issues regarding the vaccination rollout, Jalbert believes his vaccination location has been a rousing success to this point.
"I think it's been perhaps the most successful location in the state, although you'd have to verify that with (the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services)" Jalbert said. " I think it's been very seamless. It's been very easy to use. In terms of the flow and getting traffic off the street and not interfering with other locations, it's been doing very well."
As far as some scheduling and logistics issues that some residents have reported related to scheduling appointments to get vaccinated, Jalbert said the process has been smooth for him. He currently has a vaccine appointment scheduled in March, and he's set to receive his first shot at his own bus terminal.
C&J continues to maintain the facility during its operation as a vaccination site, Jalbert added. C&J staff have been responsible for the upkeep, including snow removal during and after storms to ensure the facility can keep running.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately return a request for information on the site at the time of publication.
