One of my favorite things to do on a random weekend is take a trip in-state to a new establishment to eat. My wife and I will drive hours based on a review, article, tip, or social media post.
It's fun, adventurous, and always satisfies the pallet.
While traveling this state, we have found amazing diners, great pubs, outstanding sandwich shops, and more. They can also be found in every nook and cranny in this vast state of ours.
Maine's Restaurant Scene
It's easy to get wrapped up spending massive amounts of time discussing and dissecting every little aspect about Maine's restaurant scene. Quite frankly, it deserves it. Whether it's the busy southern coast, western foothills, Midcoast, or Bar Harbor, it doesn't matter, because you will find excellent food.
With this being the case, it's easy for us Mainers to find our favorites. They may not be down the street, but it doesn't matter. If it's good, its good.
Plenty of these establishments may still be quite a drive for some of their biggest fans to make. Count me as one of those people. My wife and I aren't just looking for new establishments. We may be making a bit of a drive to hit one of our favorite places. And I know that we are not alone.
