For the most part, we are used to larger retailers being closed on major holidays.  Thanksgiving and Christmas, for example.

For those living in states where we had 'Blue Laws' this was due to an older rule that was never removed from the books.  These days, however, it is quite common for corporations to make the decision to close their chains on major holidays.

While, for decades, Walmart was open on Thanksgiving evening (in non-Blue Law states), they have recently started being closed on Thanksgiving.  This, of course, was in an effort to make sure their employees could actually celebrate the holiday with family.  Instead of being open on Thanksgiving, they would just open super early on Black Friday.

Now, it appears that some major restaurants are doing the same thing.

Longhorn & Olive Garden Locations Closing

According to an article on The Sun website, both Longhorn and Olive Garden have announced that all of their restaurants will be closed on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

It is also important to note that, for various reasons, the Christmas Eve closing times for both chains will vary from location to location.  It is always best to call ahead.

Both chains have various locations throughout Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
