Lottery Ticket Worth $1 Million Sold in New Hampshire

Back in the 1980s & 1990s, most people would consider anyone who was a millionaire to be 'rich'.

These days, the concept is a bit different.  Having a million dollars definitely makes you well-off, but it is nothing like the status that it used to be.  Our nation is loaded with lots of millionaires.

How many?

According to Finmasters, as of 2024, there were just under 30 million millionaires in the United States.  On top of that, the nation is home to dozens of BILLIONAIRES.

So, while having a million dollars kicking around is great, it is not what it used to be.

As a regular lottery player, the first thing I do when I get up on the morning after a Powerball or Megabucks drawing is to check the lottery websites.  When I woke up this morning (Thursday, May 22nd), a check of the Powerball site showed me that there were a few million-dollar winners.  One of those was in New England

What We Know About Powerball's New Hampshire Winner

According to the Powerball website, there were three million-dollar winners in Wednesday's drawing.  These winners were in Kansas, Texas, and New Hampshire.

At this point, we don't know who the winner is or where the ticket was sold.

Honestly, we cannot be really certain that the winner is from New Hampshire.  It is possible that the ticket was purchased by someone living in a nearby state.  If the store that sold the ticket is on a state line, the winner could easily be from Maine, Vermont, or Massachusetts.

Was There a Jackpot Winner in Last Night's Powerball Drawing?

No.  The jackpot, which currently sits at $163 million, is still up for grabs.
