Open For Over 100 Years, This Maine Ice Cream Shop Has Become Legendary
One of the things that we do really well here in Maine is run ice cream stands.
Even though you can get ice cream at nearly every fast-food place and sit down restaurant, there really is no better way to spend time with your family and friends than by stopping by one of our great, locally owned, ice cream stands.
While most of these places offer some kind of soft serve ice cream, we all know that the real treat is the unique, and often creative, hard ice creams offerings.
This rule applies to Shaw's Ridge Farm Ice Cream in Sanford.
About Shaw's Ridge Farm Ice Cream, BBQ, Mini-Golf
Open since 1922, they have been serving up amazing treats and food for over a century.
Some of their unique ice cream flavors include Purple Cow (black raspberry with white and dark chocolate chips), M&M fudge, key lime pie, ginger, banana, and salted caramel pretzel.
In addition to all that great ice cream, they also serve up some amazing BBQ. Depending on when you stop in they have brisket, pork tenderloin, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and more.
The place also has a playground and a mini-golf course. Can you think of a better place to spend an afternoon?
Find them on Shaw's Ridge Road in Sandford and online on their Facebook page.
