But surprise, surprise, Maine landed a spot pretty high up on the list. We're talking top 20.

The iconic Acadia National Park, which tends to land on a ton of "best" lists, secured a solid place at No. 19.

LoveExploring cited "lush forests, craggy beaches and iconic granite peaks" as well as "drop-dead-gorgeous scenery" as just a few of the reasons for it making the list.

According to Maine Public, nearly 4 million people visited the scenic location in 2023 with a good majority of people going to the Mount Desert Island area of the park.

The views are breathtaking from the park no matter what season you're in, too.

In the summer, the park's rocky shores and vibrant wildflowers make it a paradise for hikers, bikers, and kayakers. Fall transforms Acadia into a kaleidoscope of oranges, reds, and yellows, attracting foliage enthusiasts from around the world. Winter has its own peaceful allure as snow blankets the trails and turns the park into a wonderland.
