It's time to start heading out and about for the weekend (or maybe a fun weekday) and enjoying the Pine Tree State as the seasons once again change.

What better way to do that than to make plans to hit up some new restaurants? How about 12 new spots that opened in May?

New Maine Restaurants in May 2025

May seemed like a prime month for restaurant openings, with at least a dozen or so opening their doors for the first time.

Kicking off the month was Ram & Bull in Brunswick, Maine, taking over the space once occupied by the longstanding Joshua's.

This new tavern opened May 1 and is offering up food like burgers, blackened haddock, and a beet reuben.

Of course, the month also saw a pizza place, some cafes, and a "stuffed" burger spot open up.

Interestingly, at least six places debuted after Memorial Day weekend to close out the month, including Salsa Mexican Grill in Yarmouth, which says it brings "bold, authentic Mexican flavor," and Owlbear's Rest in Westbrook, a gaming cafe with a namesake nod to the Dungeons & Dragons game.
