If you have to work on Thanksgiving, this is the kind of robbery you want to respond to.

Just because it's Thanksgiving doesn't mean that the police and first responders get the day off. In Rockland, Maine, around one in the afternoon, police responded to an alarm call at a local retailer. When police showed up, a huge front glass window was smashed out, and items were knocked over inside.

According to a press release from the Rockland Police, they were helped by officers from other jurisdictions to quickly secure the entry and exit points. Then the search began through the building for the burglar or burglars, who they believed were still in the store. The video from the body cam shows the officer up close to the intruder.

According to the Facebook post,

While clearing the building, officers were met with a fawn-tasic surprise, and caught like deer in the headlights, when they found the suspect was in fact a white tail deer; possibly trying to get a head start on some black Friday shopping…

Officers and the store management helped with herding the poor thing outside. She left on her own and was not seriously injured. But she left without any good deals.

Where did the fawn try to get Thanksgiving steals?

T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods, of course! I thought that aisle of dishes looked familiar! They got it all cleaned up and taken care of before Black Friday, where I'm sure a couple of humans going for deals were not as adorable.
