Vehicles Throughout Rochester, New Hampshire, Reportedly Being Targeted

Most kids do stupid things. It's almost a rite of passage in growing up -- you realize you're making silly mistakes and then (ideally) grow from it.

For example, when I was a kid, I was lucky enough to grow up in a newly developed neighborhood, which meant many unfinished houses to explore. Naturally -- again, being a kid doing stupid things -- a few of my friends and I would walk into the unfinished houses, get on the garage roofs, and jump into massive dirt piles nearby.

(Mom, if you're reading this -- surprise! And, sorry?)

Unfortunately, some of the stupid things kids do involve the destruction of other people's property, and that's what's reportedly been happening in Rochester, New Hampshire, over the last few weeks.

In a recent post to the, You KNOW you're from Rochester, NH if you... group on Facebook, a woman named Mellisa Vaughan recently addressed a situation where kids were standing near the Reverend Amos Main statue in downtown Rochester, New Hampshire, throwing items at vehicles.

To the little (expletive) throwing things at cars by the statue downtown. Please find something more productive to do, maybe join a baseball team.  P.S. The PD will be out to educate you more on things you could do with your time. Hit my Jeep again and I'll be sure to educate you myself.

First off, after being called out in the comments section for what sounds like threatening children, Mellisa -- who mentioned she's an educator -- clarified that the "I'll be sure to educate you myself" portion of her post simply meant she would speak to the children much in the same way she referenced the Rochester Police Department would with their education on more productive things to do with their time.

On top of vehicles being targeted with rocks and other items being thrown, one person in the comments, Missy Garland, mentioned that cars were also recently spray-painted at the Gonic Mall. This is all after commenters mentioned last summer, kids in Rochester were shooting cars with paintballs.

It sounds like the Rochester Police Department is very much in the know, but if you or someone you know drives through Rochester, just be aware and extra safe.
