These Are Maine’s 20 Most In-Demand Towns to Live in
I don't think I have to tell you Maine is in-demand.
This is especially the case for Southern Maine, where the majority of the state's population lives. It seems everywhere you look, there's a new development or condo complex under construction.
It makes sense. As a Mainer, I understand why so many folks would love to live in our great state. The land is beautiful, the restaurants are delicious, the beer is tasty, the people are friendly, and the schools are solid. It's a great place to start a career, raise a family, and even retire, if cold weather is your thing.
There's something special about living close to the ocean, while also near mountains, lakes, forests, farms, villages, and small cities. Maybe I'm a bit too biased, but this state truly does have everything one needs.
So where is everyone moving to in Maine? Thanks to the fine folks over at betohio.com, we now have an answer.
The betting and analysis website decided to put some research into this question by utilizing data from realtor.com. The site was able then to figure out which markets are the hottest here in Maine.
The results are interesting, but none too surprising. The majority of them can be found in Cumberland and York County, which makes sense considering their great commerce, job opportunities, and proximity to the border, among other factors.
What finished number one? That would be South Portland. In fact, this Portland suburb even cracked the national top 10, finishing as the 9th most in-demand town in America. That is quite impressive.
