You may also know with employess being forced to work from home during Covid, it became one of the fastest growing cities . Being in a smaller city and living more affordably was a huge factor in Portland becoming a relocation magnet for remote workers.

moveBuddha used a "moving cost calculator" to determine where people are planning to move in 2024. They came up with this data by collecting searches that were conducted over the last year. It wasn't surprising to see Portland rank high, but will likely also present a challenge for a lot of people as the inventory remains low.

As a realtor, I have seen, in my experience, the spring market to be the most popular time for people to list their homes. That being said, it's just getting underway so the actual increase in inventory has yet to be seen but if you're looking to list your home in or around Portland this spring, you can likely expect getting under contract and closing for top dollar.
