New England is a stunning place to be in the fall for many reasons, but the biggest reason why we get tourists at this time is because of the brilliant colors that our trees turn this time of year and the backdrop to see them.

New Hampshire Weather Affects the Colors of the Fall

The weather of the spring does have a bit to do with how bold the colors are.  The more rain in the Spring and Summer means not so much color because of the strain it puts on the tree roots. Beautiful sunshine during that same time could mean more vibrant color.  Don't take my word for it though, I'm just repeating what my big brother told me when he took me on nature walks.
No matter what the weather does before the foliage season arrives, the absolute best way to see the foliage is by going by Cog Scenic Railroad headed to the top of Mount Washington, New Hampshire. The Cog will wind it's way up the Mountain for you to see the absolute most amazing views.

You can make an entire weekend out of this trip if you want to.  Conway and North Conway have many shops and restaurants to check out and the hiking around that area is amazing.  Don't miss Diana's Baths that has foliage, mountains, forest and waterfalls.  Breathtaking.

The Cog Scenic Railway is Worth the Price of the Ticket

The cost of a ticket to ride the Cog isn't exactly inexpensive at around $85 per adult, but once you are on the train and your eyes see the beauty of Mother Nature in all her fall glory, you will want to spend that money year after year.
