New England-Based Market Basket Got Me

I sure hope I'm not the only one, but I was totally fooled by a social post by my favorite grocery store, Market Basket.  They put up a "Save the Date" on their socials that "coming soon", you could get married at the store.  They even showed a picture of a couple with their bridesmaids on one side of the cereal isle and the groomsmen on the other, with the bride and groom in the middle.  Turns out, it was just an April Fools' Day prank.  Darn it all to heck!

Which Aisle Would You Get Married in?

I was actually dreaming, for real, which aisle would I get married in?  I know I'm already married, but it was fun to dream anyway.  It certainly wouldn't be the dairy aisle (too cold).  It wouldn't be the cleaning supply aisle (too boring).  It wouldn't be the prepared food aisle (too crowded, and have you tried to grab a box of pasta lately?  Holy Moly!  Especially if they're on sale 2/$1).  I thought the beer and wine aisle might be good for convenience sake.  I mean, there's going to be a champagne toast, and weddings are breeding grounds for getting schnockered, so you'd have the stuff right there.

One of the comments on their Facebook page said:

I’d be married in front of the bakery/bread section lmao could easily turn that into farmhouse chic

It is Just a Joke...I think

Unfortunately, the Market Basket Facebook page does imply that it's an April Fools' Day joke.  What if, however, this is just MB fishing for information?  What if this could really happen?  What if two people met at Market Basket and they want to go back to the day that their eyes locked between the frozen meatballs and hot dog buns?  It could be very romantic, don't you think?

Market Basket has always been, in my mind, the most "real" grocery store there is.  The store doesn't do it so much anymore. However, the store that I went to used to have amazing P.A. announcements when they were having some sort of special.  They were always filled with personality, and I loved them, even if I didn't need what they were pushing.

Maybe Market Basket Should Do Marriages

What if, however, you actually COULD get married at Market Basket?  What if this blows up with the MB fans (this grocery store has fans, you can bet your bippy it does).  Could this be a thing?  Having your wedding at MB could even SAVE you money.  Many times, I've tried to calculate how much I would have to spend on ingredients to make something on my own versus how much it would cost all ready made.  Most of the time, I would save money buy buying the ready-made version, so order that cake and finger rolls.  All you would have to worry about is the dress.

Would you ever get married at a grocery store?
