For the 4th time, New Hampshire has landed on top on a list of the healthiest states in America.  I wonder if it's something in the water or does it have to do with our state motto?

According to nhjournal.com, the study analyzed 99 measures of wellness including decrease in physical inactivity and a significant drop in cigarette smoking.

Massachusetts came in at #2 and Vermont came in at #3 on the list, according to axios.com.  Go New England!  The study was based on rates from premature death, drug related death, amount of violence, access to healthcare and more.

Governor Kelly Ayotte said:

New Hampshire is the healthiest state in the nation because our quality of life is unlike anywhere else.  I’m proud we’ve received yet another Number One ranking and that we continue to lead the country when it comes to health and wellbeing. It’s a testament to our dedicated health care workers, our efforts to strengthen mental health, unmatched opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and our commitment to protecting our most vulnerable citizens.

3 New England states are on top as the healthiest in the Entire U.S.

Does New Hampshire's State Motto Have Anything To Do With It?

I have another theory; maybe it's our motto of Live Free or DIE! that is giving us the high scores? After all, if the stats are based on how many times we actually go to the doctor, from what I know of my family, we would score low on that.  So many people do not seek medical attention when they need it.
