This is going to be a rough holiday season for many Stop & Shop employees in New England.  The Company announced that it is closing 32 "underperforming" stores on or before November 2, 2024, including 8 Massachusetts locations,  5 Connecticut locations and 2 in Rhode Island.

The article states that it's going to "restructure" the company for the good of the customer experience.

Interesting that Aldi, a discount grocer, is planning on expanding and opening more stores in the Northeast, according to progressivegrocer.com. Maybe Stop & Shop is experiencing staffing issues?

This could also be an opportunity for Trader Joes, as that grocery store chain also has plans to expand, according to sunset.com.  #ilovetraderjoes
