“Weird Al” Yankovic is Coming to New Hampshire in July, 2026
Okay, Nerds! (I say that lovingly,) "Weird Al" is coming to BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire in July of 2026.
Remember Dr. Demento? If you were a radio nerd like I was back in the day, you might remember his wacky show late on Sunday nights on several radio stations throughout the country. One of the many artists the good Doctor played on a regular basis made it really big. "Weird Al" Yankovic.

This is my favorite parody that Al has ever done because... as you could have guessed, my favorite flavor of ice cream is Rocky Road.
Al got his big break on Dr. Demento's radio show in 1976. He was 16 years old at the time and he played accordion. Not exactly someone you would expect to be a future Grammy winner who sells out shows, but it's very true. "Weird Al" sells out stadiums just for making people laugh.
What Did Nirvana Really Think of Weird Al's Cover?
I wonder what Kurt Cobain thought of this rendition of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." I would imagine that he would have to give his permission to use it, so I'm going to assume that he loved it. This song came out two years or so before Kurt died.
"Amish Paradise" is a song that was covered by Al because in 1995, "Gangsters Paradise" was on the charts by Coolio. Al's version came out in 1996. Coolio, however, sampled the one and only Genius, Stevie Wonder's song, "Pastime Paradise" from his 1976 album, "Songs in the Key of Life." These are weird things that just roll around in my head looking for an article to land in.
BankNH Pavilion has been called the best venue in the Country. It's in Gilford, New Hampshire, which is located in the Lakes Region, which is always beautiful in the Summer. This is almost a guaranteed good time all around.
