Load up the car, because I have a perfect family day trip for you.

I had no clue (and maybe you didn't, either) that the second-largest mall in America is in New Jersey.

And if the word "mall" does not pique your interest, what if I told you that this place has an indoor waterpark, a Nickelodeon Universe-themed amusement park, rollercoasters, 450+ stores, 100+ restaurants, and more?

For us New Englanders, New Jersey can seem like another part of the world, but it is only a three or four-hour drive from the Seacoast.

And it's also where the American Dream Mall and Nickelodeon Universe Amusement Park are.

This is no ordinary mall. This place in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is epic.

It is, without a doubt, the largest mall on the East Coast, second only to the Mall of America in Minnesota.

You can spend hours (heck, you can spend days), in the American Dream Mall.

This is Nickelodeon Universe, the full theme park INSIDE the mall.

Twists, turns, flips, and spins are all a part of these full-sized rides.

But Nickelodeon is not the only attraction here. There is also a DreamWorks-themed waterpark.

The indoor waterpark is home to the largest indoor wave pool in the world.

Of course, it is Shrek-themed, as it is named "Far Far a Bay."

With this epic, all-in-one mall/theme park/amusement park/waterpark being less than four hours from Boston, would you make this day trip with your family?
