When it comes to outdoor music venues, a few famous ones comes to mind: Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado and The Pavilion at Bethel Woods (where Woodstock 1969 took place).

Well, the Woodstock '69 site still remains the best amphitheater in the USA; however, a New England amphitheater out ranked the iconic Red Rocks.

When most people think of an outdoor music venue, such as Red Rocks, people think about concerts, loud music, camping, and so on. The amphitheater that ranked #6 in "USA Todays'" top 10 list is not your typical concert venue.

The Koussevitzky Music Shed has been the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1938. The music venue is not known for Billboard's top 10 artists, but instead symphonies, chamber music, and jazz.

When you look up pictures, people are spread on blankets drinking wine and having charcuterie boards.

For the jazz and symphony lovers of the world, this place is iconic.

The music venue began in 1934 when a group of music lovers in Berkshire helped get members of the New York Philharmonic to perform three outdoor concerts at Interlocken. The following year, they did it again.

In 1936, The Festival Committee invited Serge Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony Orchestra to take part the following year and thus the music festival and Koussevitzky Music Shed was born.
