The first fun fact I learned is that it's open all year, even in the winter. You'd have to pump me full of hot chocolate and layer me in seven pairs of long underwear before I do a tour like this in the winter. Still, I understand the appeal, as the trees must look breathtaking when covered in a blanket of snow.

What can you expect during this Canopy Tour (in the summer)?

According to BrettonWoods.com, this is a thrilling zip-line adventure on the slopes of Bretton Woods! Participants are brought through a network of platforms located high up in the ancient hemlock trees, connected by nine zip-lines, two sky bridges, and three rappels. What a unique and thrilling way to experience the White Mountains.

How long does it take?

This varies depending on the size of your group. With groups of 4+, the experience averages at about three hours and up. Smaller groups should expect it to take anywhere from 1.5 to three hours.

What will you see specifically?

The tour offers sweeping views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range.

What should you bring?

If you are going in the summer, this is important to know:

• Shorts should have a five-inch inseam, approximately mid-thigh (no booty shorts).
• Tank tops are not recommended, for comfort reasons.
• Wear sneakers! The course requires hiking on some short rugged trails that link between zip lines, so they recommend wearing hiking boots or sturdy sneakers.
• No open-toed footwear or sandals are allowed on the course.

How much does it cost?

I imagine prices vary depending on day of the week, but for a Saturday in May it was $129 per person.
