Former Dover, New Hampshire Rite Aid to Reopen as Dollar Tree

Looks like the signs went up overnight!  We now know that we are getting a Dollar Tree on Central Avenue at the former Rite Aid location.

Reaction to Dollar Tree Coming to Dover, NH

Some of the comments on Dover NH Happenings Facebook page are concerned about traffic on Central Avenue.  Also, from the comments on that page, people are saying they are looking at a July opening.

From the looks of the inside right now, they are going to need that time to remodel the inside of this huge space.

Many Rite Aid locations have turned into either Dollar Tree or Dollar General.  For example, in Raymond, NH the Rite Aid location turned into Dollar General.

The Differences Between Dollar General and Dollar Tree

There were a few people on the Facebook page expressing disappointment that Dover didn't get a Dollar General.  What's the differences between the two?  Having been to both types of stores, there are a few.

Dollar Tree sells things at a dollar and a quarter, but Dollar General sells items for much more.  There is no "cap" on what they can charge.  Dollar General also has more of a product selection to choose from.

I shop my local Dollar Tree in Raymond for the holidays.  PERFECT to get those gift bags, tissue paper, balloons, inexpensive dishes, etc.  That's why I go there.  You can save tons of money that way.  You're welcome.

My Mother in Law, who is 90 years old and does her own shopping, thank you very much, LOVES Dollar General.  Maybe she just didn't have a shiny, new Dollar Tree to shop in?

It only makes sense to me that the big bosses at Dollar Tree must have deduced that the Dover community was in need of a Dollar Tree.  Otherwise, they wouldn't have come into our little hamlet.
