We are coming up on two years that Drew Ceppetelli, a beautiful, full of life 21-year-old woman from Barrington, New Hampshire's life ended far too soon. It was Thanksgiving morning and she was involved in a horrible car crash at the Portsmouth traffic circle.  According to WMUR, the car she was in flipped and she later passed away at the hospital.

Her family and friends reminisce about her big beautiful smile and wonder what places her life might have taken her. Understandably, Thanksgiving Day is a heavy one for the many people who knew and loved Drew.

Her best friend Alex, who knew Drew since the second grade, describes her as:

"Someone who truly changed the lives of those she was around for the better, and always pushed people to be their best at all times."

Last year the community wanted to do something to honor Drew and her memory. This was also an attempt to make Thanksgiving Day more than a day filled with despair and heartbreak at the unfairness of it all. That is how the Drew Cepp Turkey Trot was born.

Alex Bostrom, the formerly mentioned best friend of Drew's since the second grade, led the charge and assumed the title of race director.

It was hosted at the Barrington Baseball Fields and Alex expected about 100 people to show up. However, Drew always exceeded their expectations. There were over 1000 participants between runners, walkers, and volunteers. The temps were low but the spirits were high as everyone was decked out in Drews favorite color; pink.

They raised just under  $50,000 to the foundation in Drew Ceppetelli's name. What was once such a somber day turned into one filled with hope and love.

The foundation was started by Alex and Drew's mom and focuses on providing resources for young women in the seacoast community through their partner SoulModels. SoulModels teaches and gives valuable experience around leadership for young women who may not receive the same opportunities without their intervention. Drew's focus on bettering oneself is what drives the foundation to empower those interested in improving themselves.

We want to help spread the word and help make the Second Annual Drew Cepp Turkey Trot bigger and better than ever before. If you are interested in participating in the race whether to walk, run, volunteer or donate to Drews foundation you may do that here. If you'd like any more information about the event Alex, the race director, can be reached at ceppetelliturkeytrot@gmail.com
