If someone asked me to guess what states in America was the most haunted, I would have immediately thought of two that I have been to and felt spirits there.  (Not that I'm any Ms. Cleo or anything...)  The first one is Louisiana.  There are ghosts everywhere in that state and they are celebrated.

The second one that I would have guessed is the most haunted is Pennsylvania for two reasons.  The first one is because the Battle at Little Round Top was fought there among other battles of the Civil War in Gettysburg.  Seriously, you can almost hear the gunfire.  The second reason is because Taylor Swift is from Pennsylvania and that girl is MAGIC.

Can You Guess What Four States In New England are the Most Haunted?

According to mentalfloss.com, there are four New England states that made the Top 10 in the U.S. as the most haunted.  Here they are and the reasons why:

  • #1:  Maine - Apparently the Pine Tree State has the most ghost sightings per 100,000 residents.  I think it's because Stephen King lives in Maine, at least part of the time now.
  • #3:  Vermont - VT has the most documented haunted locations per 100,000 residents
  • #8:  Rhode Island - They have the most cemeteries per 100,000 residents.  I'm not sure why that would count for the most haunted.  I mean, are all dead people still hanging around?
  • #10:  New Hampshire - The Granite State also has the most haunted locations per 100,000 residents.

You should really take this information with a grain of salt because, the article states that some of the most populated states like California, New Jersey and Florida, are ranked the least haunted.  Maybe the ghosts just don't have as many people to choose from to haunt?  Just a theory.
