
This Longstanding Rochester, New Hampshire, Pizza Place Is Closing for Good After 30+ Years
After multiple decades of serving up pizza, roast beef, pasta, subs and more, New England Pizza & Roast Beef in Rochester, New Hampshire, will be closing for good.
The longstanding restaurant announced on Facebook that its last day would be August 29, 2025.
One last slice before it becomes a fond memory of delicious times.
New England Pizza & Roast Beef in Rochester, New Hampshire, to Close
On August 21, 2025, a Facebook post from New England Pizza & Roast Beef revealed the big closing announcement.
In the post, owner Jay Picard stated that "with much love and gratitude, I would like to announce that we will be closing. After being here for nearly 30 years, first as a GM then nearly 13 years as the owner, it is finally time to move to something new."
He added that he's enjoyed bonding with the community and appreciated "all of those who have stuck by my side throughout my time of being open. As well as those who have come in, even if that may have only been once."
Why Is New England Pizza & Roast Beef Closing?
Like many restaurants that have had to close over the years, there are a variety of reasons as to why.
Picard told Foster's Daily Democrat that "the economy is really hard right now."
According to the newspaper, he noted worker shortage and a major renovation at the plaza where the pizza place is located contributed to his decision.
That and he said he's ready to spend some time for himself.

This closing definitely marks the end of an era, but thankfully, for the people who got to enjoy the food from New England Pizza & Roast Beef, they'll get to hold on to those good times and meals.
