Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Pickleball Tournament Supports Local Kids Impacted by a Loved One’s Cancer
If you aren't familiar with On Belay, they are a Newmarket, New Hampshire-based nonprofit that supports kids ages 8-18 who have been impacted by a loved one with cancer. They offer adventure programs that foster a community of support and camaraderie during what can be a difficult and isolating time in a child's life. They just celebrated their 20th year!
On Belay offers adventure programs like high ropes courses, rock climbing, surfing, canoeing, and more!
If you have a child that would be interested in one of On Belay's adventure programs, the organization works closely with most hospitals in the area, so ask your social worker about them. If you have questions about their programs and offerings, feel free to reach out to Executive Director Madeline Brooks here.
On Belay is gaining popularity, which is bittersweet. We wish there weren't so many children who are dealing with a loved one with cancer, but sadly, there are. And as long as there is demand, On Belay is working hard to get all the kids off their waitlist and into an adventure program.
That is where the First Annual Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser comes in.
On August 24 at the brand-new pickleball courts at Portsmouth Community Campus, a pickleball tournament will be held to raise funds for On Belay.
