There is one wildlife refuge in New England that is certainly worth a visit:

Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge - Middletown, Rhode Island

Sachest Point National Wildlife Trail is a beautiful 2.5-mile loop. It is a packed gravel path, so it is doable for strollers and kids.

No dogs are allowed here because Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is filled with animals in their natural environment.

Along your nature walk you can, and likely will, see deer grazing, whales breeching, plenty of bunnies hopping, and more.
