Two Six Flags Locations Closing Down – Is Six Flags New England at Risk?
Less parks...less fun.
Sad news for Six Flags fans nationwide. The iconic theme park brand with over 50 properties (water parks, amusement parks, and resorts combined) is closing two of its locations.
According to an All Ears article, Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Maryland will close at the end of the 2025 season.
Is Six Flags New England Closing Too?
As of now, the only two locations closing are the Maryland locations; however, this could begin a trend, and here is why...
New theme parks.
Epic Universe, part of Universal in Florida, just opened one of the largest and most expensive theme parks ever made. It is going to take business away from Six Flags, Disney, and other parks for years to come.
Why is Six Flags Closing?
The President and CEO of Six Flags identified selling the Maryland properties would be a better investment than remaining open going into the next season.
With Epic Universe likely taking even more people away in the following years, 2026-2030, I would not be surprised to see more Six Flags sell.
But not New England... let's keep that one open and operating, please?
