More Massachusetts and New Hampshire TD Bank Locations That Have Closed
More TD Bank brick and mortar locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire are closing.
The news that TD Bank was closing 51 branches was announced quite some time ago. In October of 2024, TD Bank pled guilty to the U.S. Department of Justice Department's Criminal Division for conspiring to launder money.
No Bank Ever Admitted to Money Laundering Before TD Bank
According to Justice.gov, TD Bank enabled three money laundering networks with the assistance of five TD Bank Employees who laundered more than $670 million through TD Band accounts between 2019 and 2023. It was the first time a bank ever admitted to laundering money.
TD Bank, as part of a plea agreement, has to pay $1.8 billion in penalties.
Several locations have already closed in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts and here are 7 more in Massachusetts that will close permanently by January 29, 2026, according to Boston.com.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that TD Bank was involved in money laundering. The bad guys don't do it on their own.
Gone are the days of running into the old Building and Loan in Bedford Falls and talking to your banker, George Bailey. Now, actual cash isn't even in circulation so much anymore. I hope that the employees of the bank have found another job as soon as the news broke a while back. Now we just have to find another place that gives out free lollipops.
