If you are a fan of the University of New Hampshire sports, you have to be excited for the football season this year.

Sure it was a disappointing first game loss to the Big 12 University of Central Florida, but it was a non-conference game and was their first ever meeting.

The roster is filled with local talent, with seven players having Massachusetts North Shore ties to UNH, making for an exciting season.

Check out these seven new players playing for the program with a whole lot of momentum, according to the SalemNews.com.

Experience matters, which is why junior Mason Davis of Peabody, Massachusetts could be one of the top players this year, with 16 games under his belt. The former St. John's Prep star was a starter last season at right tackle, and could be a difference maker for 2024.

Senior Duncan Moreland of Beverly, Massachusetts was outstanding late in the season last year as safety.

Sophomore Jack Cuddire of Peabody, Massachusetts is hoping to start on the offensive line, while veteran UNH kicker, Nick Mazzie, of Boxford, Massachusetts, formerly at Central Catholic, has done well the past two seasons. Mazzie connected for a 38-yard field goal in the opener against UCF, scoring the first points of the season for UNH.

Following in the young kicker role is freshman Greg Motorny of Marblehead.

Freshman Matt Sopp is on the roster for the season as well.

UNH Football is on the road September 7th to Worcester to play Holy Cross.  The first home game at Wildcats Stadium is September 14th vs. Stonehill College.  You can purchase tickets HERE.
