Fall in New Hampshire is one of those things I will never get tired of! Give me a crisp day, beautiful mountain views and a drive through the foliage, and I’m in my happy place.

My latest leaf-peeping adventure brought me to Cathedral Ledge and Echo Lake State Park in Bartlett, NH and if you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy the fall colors in the White Mountains this week or the next, I think this spot deserves a place on your list.

The timing couldn’t have been better for my latest adventure. There was a chill in the air, the unmistakable smell of fresh pine, and brilliant birch trees glowing against a perfectly clear blue sky. Everywhere I looked, there were shades of yellow, orange and red and honestly, it was one of those moments that makes you stop and think... This is why I love New Hampshire.

Cathedral Ledge is especially great because you can choose your own adventure. Feeling ambitious? Hike your way up to the lookout. Want to take in the scenery without the climb? You can drive up Cathedral Ledge Road and make your way to the overlook. Either way, the views are absolutely worth it.

And if you’re planning your own leaf-peeping adventure, the timing is pretty perfect. Peak foliage is expected around October 5th in the White Mountains, with the Lakes Region expected to reach peak around October 8th. So, if you’ve been waiting for your excuse to get out there, consider this your sign!

Add a stop at Echo Lake, breathe in that fresh mountain air and take a few minutes to simply enjoy the view... I know I always feel rejuvenated after a quiet moment in nature.
