With warm weather so close and the world slowly but surely getting back to some form of normal, what a great time for a comic book store to open in Dover!

Khaotic Comic's is having a soft opening on Saturday, April 17.

The location of the store is 590 Central Avenue, which was once Simply Clean dry cleaners.

In my opinion, this is an ideal location because 'Gold Rush', the coin and jewelry shop, shares the same building. So many great collectibles in one place.

I always thought that The Garrison City was in need of a comic book store, not only because they're amazing and fun, but because of the historic significance that this corner of the world has in the super hero universe.

In 1983, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, yes, everyone's favorite heroes in a half shell, were first conceptualized right in Dover.

The first issue officially debuted (in black and white) in 1984. Within a year, the studios would move to Connecticut and just a short time after that, the cartoon and subsequent movies would go on to make a fortune.

And now, the birthplace of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello has it's own comic book store!

According to their website, the soft opening on April 17th (from 10AM to 7PM) will include face painting, hot dogs, chips and drink as well as an appearance from the very well known, friendly neighborhood arachnid person. (Not sure if I'm allowed to say his real name. With great power comes great responsibility after all.)

Sounds like a great opening day and it's literally just around the corner!
