A man considered to be a fugitive from justice was taken into custody at a Hampton hotel on Friday.

Hampton Police, along with the Seacoast Emergency Response Team and the Rockingham County Sherriff’s Department. worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to take Jose Soto, 24, of Springfield, Massachusetts into custody without incident from the hotel on Ashworth Avenue.

Soto was wanted out of Waterbury, Conn., on extraditable warrants for two counts
of attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a permit,
and illegal discharge of a firearm. He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail on preventative detention pending arraignment on Monday.
