This article is NOT about the Covid-19 vaccine.

Okay, partially, BUT, I am not here to tell you whether to get a vaccine or not. Instead, I want to inform New Englanders where we stand compared to the rest of the country in terms of vaccination rates.

I was really impressed when I saw the findings. Better yet, I was shocked. I figured  Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont would all fare well.

I even pegged Massachusetts and Vermont to be in the top 10. And they were.

But.

I did not expect to see Maine and New Hampshire even close to the top 20, let alone in the top 10. Turns out I was way off.

Out of all 50 states, 51 including the District of Columbia, New Hampshire ranked third in a Wallet Hub survey of states that vaccinate the most. Maine ranked at five.

Look at the map below and you will see where  New England stands compared to the rest of the United States.

New England  is all bright blue? But that means...

Yes. All six New England states ranked in the top six states with the highest vaccination rates.

Massachusetts was the number one state (most vaccinated state), ranking first in "Children & Teenagers Immunization Rates" and first in "Immunization Uptake Disparities & Influencing Factors, according to WalletHub.

New Hampshire, ranking third in the nation in overall vaccination, had the number two spot for second best state with "Adult & Elderly Vaccination Rates."

The Granite State takes care of their elders. We love to see that.

The rankings were based off of a variety of categories: Flu Vaccination Coverage Rate Among Adults, Share of Adults With Tetanus Vaccination, Share of Children 19-35 Months Old Living in Poverty With Combined 7-Vaccine Series, Share of Children Under 6 Years Participating in an Immunization Information System, and more!
