The Royals have arrived in Boston, and the frenzy begins to catch a glimpse of Will & Kate, as we affectionately call them.
With big smiles, the royal couple was greeted by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and his wife, Lauren Baker. The Princess of Wales was dressed in a navy blue custom pantsuit with a turtleneck and diamond earrings.
Crowds of people stood in the rain at Boston's City Hall in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Prince and Princess. This may have been the best bet for the public to see the royals. However, Buckingham Palace is keeping tight-lipped about any other visits outside the planned stops while in America.
According to abc.com, City Hall was lit up green today by TRH's, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Governor-elect Maura Healy, in honor of the Earthshot Prize Awards, focusing on repairing the environment. The Prince of Wales began these honors pre-pandemic. This is only the second time the awards have been given since its inception in 2019.
If you see City Hall lit up green, now you know why. Inside City Hall, the Princess revealed an appropriately "green" tartan plaid dress with green pumps, as the green theme takes over Boston for the next few days.
Stops this week on the agenda include Greentown Labs in Somerville, MA, Roca of Chelsea, MA, a kids at high-risk organization, a brief tour by Caroline Kennedy of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Dorchester, MA, and a meeting with researchers at Harvard University at The Center on The Developing Child.
Friday evening at the new MGM Music Hall at Fenway, the Earthshot Awards Ceremony takes place with performances by Billie Eilish, Annie Lenox, and others, and features Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Catherine O'Hara (Schitt's Creek), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), and Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii 5-0).
If you are in the mood to buy British this week, here's a link to two local favorite British stores in New England at WOKQ.com. Let's just say the Prince and Princess of Wales should feel at home in New England, because the weather is the same in London as it is in Boston this week.
