A fire in a pickup truck parked in a driveway spread to an East Hampstead townhouse Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from several communities responded to the fire on Chamberlain Avenue around 7 a.m., and found the area above the garage door in flames, according to Hampstead Fire-Rescue.

Hampstead, Salem, Sandown, and Atkinson firefighters worked on the lower part of the townhouse and the pickup, while Plaistow firefighters tackled the fire from the attic and stopped it from spreading.

The fire was knocked out and crews remained on scene for a time to clean up the scene.

Fire officials did not disclose how many people were in the home at the time.
