Staffing Issues Have Plagued Local Restaurants

Seems there is a ‘hire’ sign in nearly every restaurant you go to. Chipotle in Dover is facing some rough times after their General Manager was hit by a car last month.  The GM has been in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility since the accident so one of the assistant managers, Hannah Roberts, was promoted to the manager position at the Chipotle in Dover according to the Dover NH Facebook Takeout Restaurant Group.

Staffing and Wait times are Tough Now

Chipotle in Dover, New Hampshire is not alone in facing difficult times.  They have had to change their hours due to call-outs and the workers that are showing up every day and working long hours.  A little kindness goes a long way.  Waiting for your food order when you are on the go or on the way home to some hungry kids can be frustrating but the crew at the Chipotle in Dover is doing the best with what they have.  Try and be kind.  You can express your frustration, just don’t take it out on the kids working their butts off.  Hopefully, they can turn the ship around and get back to a full staff and full operating hours shortly.

Restaurants are Hiring

Restaurants are hiring everywhere and now would be a good time to get your foot in the door.  If you are a hard worker, chances for a quick promotion at many of these restaurants are good.  They need dependable hard workers.  My son-in-law is a restaurant chain GM and he is facing the trouble that restaurants all over the country are.  Staffing issues.  While cases of COVID are down, he tells me that if one of his crew members has any symptoms, he must send them for a COVID test.  Even though his employees are vaccinated, he has had a few breakthrough cases on his staff.  I know that throws him for a loop I can’t imagine the struggle that Chipotle in Dover is having now since the tragic accident that put their GM in the hospital.  Just remember, always be kind.
