The Epic Journey of Taylor Swift’s Jacket Across the World Began With a New England Fan
Out of all of the crazy stories associated with the Taylor Swift Era's Tour, I have found the best one.
No, it is not the crash of Ticketmaster. No, it is not the record-breaking international ticket signups. I am talking about the traveling Era's Jacket.
Dave Portnoy, founder and owner of Barstool Sports, grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts. We know that he is a gazillionaire, gambler, and blunt Masshole, but he does some pretty cool things across social media.
His most viral and epic move as of late came two months ago, when he saw Taylor Swift's concert. Portnoy wore a black denim jacket with all of Taylor's eras (albums) on the back. It's a pretty sweet jacket.
After he wore the jacket on night one in New Jersey, he gave the jacket to someone who was going the next day.
The only promise was that the person had to keep handing off the jacket to someone going to the next show.
It caught on like wildfire.
The jacket made it to every show in New Jersey, then traveled to Chicago. From there it went to Detroit, Pittsburg, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Denver, Seattle, Santa Carla, LA...you get it.
According to Portnoy, the jacket has not missed any stops. Some people were able to meet up to pass off the jacket, while others were too far and required express shipping to different states. Now, the jacket is headed international.
This is the collect storyline out of Taylor Swift's Era's Tour.
