These Maine Restaurants Are Incredibly Underrated

The State of Maine is continuously growing and becoming known as a food destination. Portland alone is iconic when it comes to great eats and world-renowned chefs. It seems like every couple of months a new celebrity from the Food Network or Netflix is up here trying some incredible dishes along with a camera crew.
Fancy steaks dishes, fried seafood, lobster, lobster rolls, lobster grilled cheese, lobster tacos, lobster mac, and cheese...Think of that scene from Forest Gump where Bubba was listing off all the things his family would do with shrimp.
There are a few restaurants with names that everyone recognizes and will travel for miles upon miles to dine at. They're great, obviously! But I wanted to know about the hidden gems, the holes in the wall. The kind of places where everyone knows your name. To me, that's where the real magic happens. That's where the memories are made.
Those are the places you bring your folks for their anniversary or an old friend from college who you haven't seen in years. That's where family birthday parties happen, first dates, high school friend hangouts.
So, I decided to do some incredibly scientific research and look at the people of Facebook land. After dozens of recommendations from all over the state, I was able to put together a top 10 list of the Maine establishments that you simply can not miss!
