Six Seacoast communities in New Hampshire have 30 or more active COVID cases, according to officials at the NH Department of Health and Human Services.

On Friday, Rochester had 80 active cases, followed by Dover with 57 and Portsmouth with 44.

Barrington had 40 cases, while Hampton and Seabrook each had 30.

The numbers reflect a significant jump from Aug. 18, when officials reported 41 active cases in Rochester, 40 in Dover and 33 in Portsmouth.

Manchester, which is outside the Seacoast region, is the most populated city in the state and had 225 active COVID cases as of Friday. Nashua had 141 cases, while Derry had 82 and Concord had 81 cases.

New Hampshire has had 1,426 deaths reported due to COVID. A total of 30 new deaths have been reported over the course of the last 16 days.

According to officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 647,461 Americans have died from COVID.
