Enter ‘The Twilight Zone’ At This Dover Vegan Paradise
You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind.
This Stop is Willoughby is a vegan shoppe in Dover that pays tribute to The Twilight Zone on multiple levels. The store name is a nod to owner Sabrina Moore’s fondness for the classic television series. A visit to the establishment is like stepping into a separate dimension where careful consideration has gone into curating a collection of goods that specifically cater to the Seacoast vegan community.
“There is more to veganism than just what you’re eating,” Moore told Seacoast Current. This Stop is Willoughby does offer a variety of food options, including plant-based meat products, cashew cheeses, take-home burritos and taquitos, and a variety of baked goods and chocolates.
“Our vegan candy bars are among our best sellers!” Moore added. In addition to edible goodies, shoppers will discover many items for the home, such as laundry detergents, candles, handmade soaps, apparel, and cookbooks.

A brief explanation of the aforementioned "The Twilight Zone" connection: “A Stop at Willoughby” is a popular episode about a man caught up in the frenzied pace of corporate life. Exhausted by the monotony of his daily routine, he falls asleep on the commuter rail, and wakes up to discover the deserted train has stopped in a mysterious town called Willoughby, a "peaceful, restful place, where a man can slow down to a walk and live his life full measure."
After a similar career experience, Moore decided to step off the figurative train and open a business that compliments her personal commitment to the vegan lifestyle. This Stop is Willoughby also showcases her clothing line, White Muck.
“Ninety-five percent of our products are supplied by other vegan vendors," Moore said, "so your purchases are helping two small businesses with one stop.”
She went on to explain that a large majority of business owners within her circle are women, a market sector worthy of recognition and support, she said.
This Stop is Willoughby opened in July 2020, and hosted monthly mini-markets in its parking lot. Moore said the markets, which feature 100% vegan vendors, will resume in the spring. She said all shopping, whether indoors or outdoors, follows strict COVID-19 protocols so that her customers have the chance to feel more comfortable and safe.
The shop is located at 6 School Street in Dover. More information, including store hours and calendar events, can be found on their website.
