Sasha Banks is from Boston
Even though Sasha Banks, whose real name is Mercedes Vanardo, grew up in Boston before she took over the ranks of WWE and became a multi-time Women's Champion and Women's Tag Team Champion, this past Mother's Day was the very first time that she has ever thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park.
And unlike a lot of celebrities who decide to throw a first pitch from in front of the mound, Sasha, who considers herself "The Boss," "The Blueprint," and "The Standard," decided to prove she indeed is the "Legit Boss" and toss her pitch from the mound -- an easy decision for someone who grew up in Red Sox Nation and dreamed of touching that every part of that infield as a child.
As seen in the video leading up to her pitch, before she even took the mound, she called out Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Mariah Carey, all of which had legendary first pitches -- for the wrong reasons.

Sasha Banks is actually related to Snoop Dogg
Part of what's great about her calling out three major celebrities who botched their first pitches, aside from being "boss enough" to do it before she threw the pitch herself, was the fact that she's actually related to Snoop. According to Essentially Sports, Sasha and Snoop are actually first cousins, although she didn't know him through her early childhood. When she was 16, though, they went to WWE's big yearly event, WrestleMania, and the bond was formed. Nowadays, Sasha said that Snoop is one of her biggest fans.
In fact, Snoop helped remix Sasha's entrance theme that she currently uses.
