It's safe to say that New England prides itself on fall festivals. Anything fall is our total domain, and we will always own it. That's why our festivals are so huge, attracting tens of thousands for just a single day event. That's crazy fun, for sure.

One of the biggest of these festivals is the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival in downtown Laconia, put on by the Chamber of Commerce.

Being right near the water in the Lakes Region where fall enthusiasts gather annually makes for an autumn that vacationers dream of, not to mention regional excitement. So, mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29, and get ready for the most unique fun you'll find at a fall festival.

Like most festivals, there's a 5K and 10K to start the day off if you're interested in getting your sweat on before the festival fun.

But overall, where to begin? There's a zombie walk with creepers and lurkers, after dark of course, with the Wicked Witches of the Lakes Region joining the zombies.

Before that, have fun with axe throwing and pumpkin bowling. There's also a kid's zone with so much to do, like face painting and arts and crafts. As the sun sets, the glowing pumpkins reign supreme.

The streets are filled with local and regional artisans and vendors in the fall spirit, not to mention the Halloween vibe.  Don't get me started on all of the fabulous food lining the streets from local restaurants and food trucks. Delish! I mean, how famished will you be after the corn hole competition, right?
