There are many times when we do not want to cook when we get home. At least there are times that I am too tired or just not in the mood to cook. So, what do we do when that is the case? We choose to order out.
Other than not having to cook and still being able to relax at home, there now seems to be another reason why ordering food to be delivered could be beneficial.
According to WJAR Channel 10, back in February, one couple (Caryn Herbert Sullivan and her husband) from Fairhaven, MA, decided to order a pizza, not expecting something traumatic to occur. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.
26-year-old, Sophia Furtado, was delivering their pizza via DoorDash and was taken back by what she saw when she arrived.
WJAR states that Caryn Sullivan's husband had fallen asleep, so she went outside to wait for the food to arrive. However, things took a turn for the worst and Caryn Sullivan ended up passing out and hitting her head.
Luckily, the DoorDash driver had studied to become a paramedic for some time and knew exactly what to do to help. According to Today, Furtado called 911 and told Sullivan's husband to grab towels to stop the bleeding.
Today states that Caryn Sullivan ended up in the hospital for three weeks with a traumatic brain injury and needed to get staples in her head.
Luckily, Caryn is alive and well. WJAR writes that Furtado was awarded for her heroic actions, she received a plaque from Fairhaven police, a pin from Caryn Sullivan and her family, as well as a $1,000 scholarship from DoorDash to go to EMT school.
Furtado took action and was able to turn a scary situation around.
