Do you love chicken wings? If without hesitation you said "yes", then you'll be bummed to find out one of the best and award-winning chicken wing spots in the state will be closing soon.
This joint hand-cuts its wings daily. There are several locations in New Hampshire, but the Portsmouth location is the OG.
Wing Itz in Portsmouth just announced on Facebook that it has outgrown its original Portsmouth location, and will be closing. Fans of the famous, award-winning restaurant are not pleased, but the good news is that there are other locations in Dover, Hampton, and Newmarket, NH, that are still in business.
In fact, even the fries are famous and a fan favorite, as Wing Itz was voted #1 place to get french fries in New Hampshire.
What makes these wings so good? They're fresh, hand-cut, and cooked perfectly, with incredible sauces ranging from sweet to mouth-melting hot. They have something for everyone, but their most famous offering is the El Diablo Sauce. It's so hot that in a wing-eating contest, they dare you to eat only 10 wings. Ouch.
The restaurant has evolved over the years since it opened in 2007. The owner added an outside patio, which patrons love.
Remember in 2013 when Wing Itz sponsored a race car driven by Jason Welch? Everyone loved that #21 Wing Itz car.
Remember when Derek Fisher, the owner, painstakingly made the bottle cap tabletop? What an achievement.
The social media post says to "keep your eyes out for something big coming up". Could this mean there's a much larger Wing Itz in Portsmouth coming soon? Time will tell, so keep the hot sauce ready.
