As if a family, the 2022/2023 NFL season, and a potential divorce was not enough for the former New England quarterback and superstar, Tom Brady has officially jumped on board with the fastest-growing sport in the United States: pickleball.

Pickleball is a combination of tennis and badminton. If you have not played, get outside and have a round. It really is the fastest-growing sport in the nation, and for good reason. If you have played, you know.

If not, Tom Brady purchasing a team is probably a telling sign. On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Buccaneers quarterback announced that he is part of an ownership group that purchased the team for the 2023 season, according to a recent Fox News article.

The group is led by Knighthead Capital Management, LLC and includes "four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters, Wall Street's Callie Simpkins, financial adviser Kaitlyn Kerr ,and Matt Alvarez..." Kerr will take on the general manager role, according to Fox News.

Brady is not the only athlete who has jumped on board with the growing sport. Lebron James, Dre Brees, and Kevin Love are all apart of the MLP (major league pickleball).

"Of course, I’m excited at the investment opportunity," said Brady's co-owner Kim Clijsters according to Fox. "But what excites me the most about becoming an MLP owner is that I get to help shape the future of pickleball, a sport I have come to love, with great people who also happen to be some of my best friends."
