It's always fun going to see a show at a theater. Whether it's a musical or not, you sit in comfortable seats and have live entertainment right in front of you. I've been to far too many musicals in my life, with no plans of stopping any time soon.
Of course, everyone knows about Broadway in New York City. However, there are so many amazing theaters throughout New England. The Walpole Footlighters in East Walpole, MA started in 1924 and have been producing and putting on shows for almost 100 years.
The Walpole Footlighters will be putting on a nominated Off-Broadway show called 'Disenchanted!'. It is a musical comedy that is based on a book, music, and lyrics by Dennis T. Giacino.
If you consider yourself a Disney Adult, or just someone that enjoys original Disney movies, this musical may be something that you can enjoy.
We all know the stories of Disney princesses like Snow White, Rapunzel, Tiana, Pocahontas, and even Mulan. Well, what if the stories we know aren't what the princesses want? That's exactly what this musical will be about.
Be warned, just because this show involves Disney characters, doesn't mean that it's meant for children.
In this production, the Disney princesses do not like how they are portrayed in today's society and want to set the record straight. That's right, they will be throwing down their tiaras (if they wear one) and will not be so ladylike. There will be comedy, music, and misbehaving princesses.
If you want to know the truth about these princesses, grab your friends and hey, get in character yourself and dress up.
The Walpole Footlighters will be putting on this performance at their playhouse, located at 2 Scout Rd, East Walpole, MA. The show will run from May 6-22. The performances will start at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 pm on Sunday, May 15 and 22. You can find more information here.
