Glenn Close was in Eliot Maine for an episode of HGTV's Celebrity IOU with the Property Brothers!
According to Seacoastonline, this was filmed last fall from September into November.in Eliot, Maine. Glenn Close lived in Maine and even got married here in a private ceremony back in 2006 to Idexx founder David Shaw. I love Glenn Close and had a chance to meet her when she came to the radio station. I brought her water and the only thing I could say was,
I love you in Damages.
Anyway, back to why she was here in Maine (she has since divorced David). Celebrity IOU on HGTV puts celebrities with Jonathan and Drew Scott, the twins known as the 'Property Brothers', and gives a surprise home renovation to someone special in their lives.
Glenn Close, who has an Emmy, Tony, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award along with eight Oscar nominations, picked her friend Robin. Robin was the very first volunteer with Close's mental health-focused foundation, Bring Change 2 Mind. Robin got a backyard makeover. Glenn started Bring Change 2 Mind after her sister was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and said she felt suicidal.

It's got tons of natural lighting, and thanks to the twins it has a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and craft room that also be a bedroom. Robin says,
I like the stillness of it, the serenity of it, the peace in it, the love that’s in it. It’s warm. It’s inviting. It’s amazing.
Glenn Close got her hands dirty too even working the excavator to tear down a shed. If you ever get a chance, it is super fun operating one of those! Remember to catch the Celebrity OUI episode shot here in Maine on Monday, May 29th!
