When you think of Hallmark, you think of the typical white picket fence small town where everything is perfect and nothing goes wrong, right? That's just in a perfect world, but I do believe that the town of Kennebunkport in the summertime is the closest thing to perfect that Maine is going to get. Here's why.

The second you enter this little town, you're greeted with tons of little shops that remind you of childhood. I can't explain how or why, but I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. The main strip is sprinkled with every different type of bar and restaurant that you're in the mood for, and they feel very cozy inside. Once you're done with dinner, there's a few local ice cream shops right next to the bars that are so cute, you feel like you're actually in a wholesome Hallmark movie.

My favorite restaurant that makes you feel like you're dining in a movie is a place called Boat House. It's right on the water, and their outside seating allows you to watch all the big tugboats steam in and out of the bay. It's like nothing you've ever experienced. They also have a dock meant for customers who can pull up, dock, grab a drink, and head out. It's some serious atmosphere and people-watching, which is honestly a huge hobby of mine (IYKYK).

Overall, Kennebunkport is one of those towns you go to on a Sunday with your family, and you just feel a rush of happiness and wholesome-ness. Is that a word? You get it.
