Portland, Maine, Market Gets Top 100 Score in Barstool Pizza Review

We know about the Somerville, Massachusetts, pizza place called Dragon Pizza that got the "worst pizza in America review" (you can read more about it here). But did you know that while Portnoy had his brief pizza review stint here in Portland, Maine, he actually went to one of the "speakeasy pizza shops" (or so I call it), named Monte's, that's basically a grocery store with pizza?

He gave the place a 8.4 out of 10 score, and according to newscentermaine, Monte's ranks in the top 100 out of all 1,568 pizza reviews Portnoy had done by the time of that visit. If you haven't seen the video of the entire review, here you go:

Here's my thing, though, and I'm sure most of you who are frequent customers of Monte's can relate to this one. On one hand, I'm super happy Portnoy was able to boost their pizza sales and help out a local business to stay out of debt. On the other hand, because of the high demand that struck this little grocery store after his reviews, all the prices of their pizza products went up drastically.

Hear me out, though. I totally understand supply and demand, and would understand if they raised their prices for the time being while everything settled down in their world with what came from the aftermath of Portnoy's viral review. What I don't understand is why they're keeping their prices so high at almost a year later, when I'm sure the demand has settled down. Truth be told, it deters me from grabbing a $10 slice of pizza from there, even though I love their food. Is this me shooting my shot at Monte's to please settle down on the price of their pizza lol? I love them too much not to have them in my life, but if want to pay my bills, I can't be buying their pizza all the time anymore, HAHA. Please don't take that too seriously if you're reading this. You know what I'm trying to say.
